First Week Celebrations & Popsicle Friday!
Good afternoon, Bella Vista families! It’s been a wonderful first week of school. Not only did we have a wonderful red-carpet welcome for first- through fifth-graders on Monday, today we were thrilled to welcome our kindergarten and preschool classes. As Bella Vista’s principal, I hope every student and their families feel welcome at the school.
I am so proud of our students and the way they have handled coming back to school after Summer Recess, especially after our HVAC system malfunctioned earlier this week. I want to give a big shout out to the Canyons District Facilities Department for working so hard on the needed repairs. A new motor for our HVAC system is expected to arrive and be installed on Monday, Aug. 28. In the meantime, we have placed fans and portable coolers around the school to keep everyone cool. Our educators are doing fabulous job of keeping the daily routines going with students! Parents, to help students stay hydrated, we ask you to send your students to school with a water bottle for tomorrow and Monday. We also will provide water bottles to students who don’t have them. At the end of the school day on Friday, we’ll also hand out popsicles to cool down — and to celebrate the end of an amazing first week of school! Our priority is keeping our students safe and engaged in learning. We will continue to work with our Canyons District support teams and share updates with our Bella Vista community. If you have any concerns or questions, please reach out to me at 801-826-7828 or send me an email at angi.holden@canyonsdistrict.org. Thank you and welcome back to school! |
