Agenda Items: 

  • Approve February’s Minutes
    • reviewed and approved
  • Proposed TSSA/Land Trust Goals:
    • Increase on-track attendance by 5%
    • 65% at or above benchmark on ARC and 65% typical or better growth on APP
    • 65% score at or above benchmark on AMComp and 65% typical or better growth on APP
    • 100% of teachers conducting STEAM Fridays
    • Action steps for each goal will be addressed in next BLT meeting
    • All SCC members signed the signature form agreeing that they participated and agree with both the TSSP and Land Trust plans for 2025-2026.
  • Behavior
    • 185 referrals, including one that required district consult
    • Physical and verbal aggression are highest issues
  • Attendance 
    • Seems to be falling 5% every week
    • A lot of illness going around
    • Still at 52% on track—much higher than last year
  • Feb. safety drill report and budgets
    • Land Trust
      • 3/1/25: 13,459.70
    • TSSA
      • 3/1/25: 36,194.47
      • (spent a lot on library—yay!—and will be funding reading gala)
    • Cell Tower
      • 3/1/25: 16,755.19
      • Hired the aide, and she is onboarding very well and has helped the wellness team greatly already!
    • Mar. Drill – Carbon Monoxide
      • Drill went well, no hiccups
  • Parking lot concerns
    • Principal Winder has looked at the flow of Fort Union and the flow of the parking lot
    • Working with district safety supervisor on best planning
    • Upon observation, when the cones were not in place, there were parents who called their children to cross over the bus lane, people double parking, etc.
    • There were not too many parents complaining about it—those who had to be redirected were receptive
    • Suggestion proposed to reverse the traffic flow of the pickup/drop-off to reduce congestion around stop signs
  • Retaining 10 FTE next year—woo-hoo!
    • Planning to split again, and there have been a lot of learnings about the process this year
    • 2 kindergarten teachers (Coombs/Edwards)
    • 2 first grade (Rasmussen/Robinson)
    • 1 second grade (Schreiber)
    • 1 second/third split (Patino)
    • 1 third grade (Nielson)
    • 1 fourth grade (Curtis)
    • 1 fourth/fifth split (Hall)
    • 1 fifth (new hire)
    • Ideally will have three instructional aides and will utilize them well
